En bromsmotor är en typ av elektrisk motor med en bromsanordning som gör att motorn snabbt och säkert kan stanna vid behov. Exempelvis för lyftutrustning och maskinutrustning där exakt hantering av lasten är viktigt. När strömmen till motorn bryts så aktiveras bromsen automatiskt och bromsar motorns rotation.
